Shuyin Tang and Lee Fitzgerald are from Patamar Capital.
It’s a Venture Capital and impact investing firm that’s focussed on improving
economic opportunities for low-income communities in Asia. They do it by making
early-stage investments in high-impact enterprises.
We sat down late last year when Shuyin and Lee were in Sydney for the Impact Investment Summit.
On this episode…
We went deep on the thinking behind a leading venture capital firm. They pride themselves on seeing opportunities that other people miss, and the case studies around the businesses they’ve supported offer powerful inspiration.

My key takeaway this week…
“The key impact metrics, are also operational metrics.
If the impact metrics are trending in the right direction, most often the business will be too.”

This was a big revelation book. I think it had a huge impact on the development and social impact space, and questioning the motives behind charity and impact.
Daniel Kahneman
